Hi bloggers, it is great to see that you are interested on knowing more about ninjas so that, I will answer your questions, written in your comments, from the last post. First, Danyel, we can say that ninjas are warriors, but with different values and objectives than stereotypical warriors like samurais. Also, it is important to mention that ninjas participated in wars because they were hired by the Japanese courts that were fighting for the control of the country. Furthermore, Chava and Danyel, be patient, I will comment my experiences in ninjutsu in other posts. And, Chava, actually I heard about techniques that can kill a person instantly, but those types of movements are learned in very advanced levels of ninjutsu (I stayed in green tape, like level 3 out of 10). Even though, I will find them and comment on this further.
Well, retaking the wars in which ninjas have participated, I found that, 70 years after the Nanbukucho Wars, the Onin War broke out. This conflict started in 1467 and finished in 1477. Basically, the war started against the Ashikaga clan, but it then evolved into a civil war. Here, ninjas’ participation was very important because they acted as spies and surprise attackers that distracted the armies in order to give an advantage to the main besieging army that was attacking from the outside of the castles. After this war, a century of fighting started and it is called, Warring States Period (Szczepanski).
I think that it is all for today, next week, we will see the last registered war in which ninjas participated. Keep reading, commenting and see you next week.

Is interesting to learn more about the names of the wars in which ninjas had participated and what exactly they did, because I just know of a few wars, and as I know, in most of the internal wars (I mean wars just inside japan), the two sides that were fighting hired ninjas to help them or just because samurai thought that ninjas lives were worthless in comparison to their own lives (also the shogun thought that) and didn't matter if they died or not, as long as not many samurais died in battle.
ResponderEliminarhey, may I ask you a favor?
I know of a story, is a ninja love story, based on a real fact, but I want to know the name of the war in which they were involve.
The story is like this: the shogun had two heirs to the throne from different wives, but he didn't know which to choose, and both women were seeking their husband to choose their son as the next shogun. So he went to a counselor, and asked him for advice, the counselor said that there must be a war to choose the next shogun, but it was risky because it will take many lives away. The counselor proposed the shogun to hire ninjas to make this job, instead of making samurai fight for this cause, because in his point of view, a ninja life could be replaced, but a samurai life not.
The shogun hired ninjas from two families who had a dispute since 400 years ago but now they were supposed to be in a peace treaty which was supervised by the war general, the shogun make the general to remove the peace treaty and make ninjas to kill each other and let their hate out, and according to the last member of a family to stand, the next shogun would be chosen.
Hi Ray! It is good to see that you continued your posts about ninja wars. And let me tell you that I am a bit surprised about your today’s post, let me tell you why. I am studying History at high school, and I indentified a common pattern about the wars that happened until the 18th century, this pattern is that all of those wars were extremely long in comparisons with the most recent wars in our time. And actually, this 10-year war of the Nanbukucho is quite short for those at that time. Well that is just an observation, kind of a curious fact.

That you wrote about Ashikaga clan, but we don’t even know anything about ninjas (normal readers, not experts), and it may be good if you tell use any details that can be used of context for a better understanding. Maybe instead of just mentioning, you can write more about what happened, the purposes of the war, the consequences, and many other things. Well, I repeat, these are just tips that you can use.
Well, great job, and let me tell you that I am still waiting for that posts that talks about a rivalry between ninjas and samurais, I really think that there was this rivalry. Well, good bye Ray, and do not forget to visit my blog. On this week’s post I wrote about Nuri Sahin, it may result interesting for you. Bye.
