Ninjas and wars

Hello again bloggers. About the last post… Yes Ale, ninjas and their techniques exist in reality. Actually here in Monterrey there are institutions that can teach ninjutsu (if someone wants to learn, I can give you the facebook account of a sen sei that knows more about this). Danyel, yes, the last reference that I used is related to the Naruto manga but I assure you that this web page is a completely reliable source. Goyo, thanks for the comment, I am glad that you liked it. About your request, I researched about some conflicts where ninjas participated and I decided to make some posts about this. Today’s post will be the first war in which ninjas were involved

The fist war, where ninjas participated was called, the Nanbukucho Wars. These wars started at 1336 and came up to an end until 1396. In these wars, two internal courts of Japan were disputing the control of the country. The Northern Court was leaded by the shoguns (military leaders) and the Southern Court was commanded by Emperor Go-Daigo. Ninjas played an important role here because they were spies from both sides. For example, they infiltrated in the castles and passed the information gathered to one of the Courts in order to have an advantage over the enemy. At the end, the Northern Court won and the Emperor’s fortress was burned by ninjas (Szczepanski). Well, that is all for today, I hope that you liked it. Next week I will talk about other wars involving ninjas. Keep reading and commenting.

  1. "At the end, the Northern Court won and the Emperor’s fortress was burned by ninjas" o.o
haha! Hello Ray! How r u?
Were ninjas supposed to be warriors or something like that? or why they were involved in wars? The burning fact was kinda creepy also! I thought ninjas were more "discrete" when making an attack or a movement ... like a shadow?
About the ninjutsu clases ... nice!! So we can learn to be ninjas, throw shurikens and walk over water? JK!, but it is still very interesting. You know the contact because you took some classes during summer right? You should comment about it!

    Well, see you later,
    Danyel

  2. Hallo! Ray
In my looking for blogs i really get atonished by the subject that you are dealing with.
Despite of my trauma with oriental culture, i must admit that i even consider ninjas as a interesting topic, however, there are some subjects that i will really like to see if you have the chance to explain about the way in which ninjas were raised along their lives (I've heard that it was pretty drastic), also i would like to see if you can talk about their techniques, i read on a web page that there was a technique often used by them, in which they could kill a enemy with just a coin, leaving any relevant sign of the murder weapon. I would really appreciate if you can explain me more about these topics, and nice topic that you choose this time about war. It does not hurt to know more about new things.
Hey ray, did you know that:

  3. Hi,
your blog name caught my atention :D ,
    it is rteally interesting,
i do also live here in MTY,
and i've been wanting to study ninjutsu, sadly my parents barely let me study kendo(the way of the sword) because it is like fencing -_- .
anyway, i saw that you said something of naruto, i prefer to call it rellenuto(the conjunction of the words relleno(fill) and naruto) because, in my opinion it is S*** and denegrate what real ninjas are, instead od naruto you should had mention something like BASILISK(an anime/manga based on a japanese folk story about two lovers from different ninja villages which were in war).

    bye,
    GBU,
    have a nice day~!

    :D

    sorry for my randomness

  4. Yay! Finally some action. I was waiting for you to write about the wars in where the ninjas participated. Now I can pay even more attention while reading because this is an interesting theme of mine. Actually, I did not know anything about what you wrote on your post, but it is not surprising, at least for me. The ninjas tend to do the espionage part always, well, that is the impression I have of them because, that is what appears of the movies about ninjas. But, about this war, can you post even more information about it, I mean, it is interesting, but I would care if you talk about a rivalry about ninjas and samurais in Japan. I really do not know if there is one but, if there is, maybe you should write about it, it should be interesting. Maybe this first war was about, leaving aside ninjas against ninjas, ninjas against samurais in some manner. Also, I know that the samurais are the high class of Japan, and maybe there is a conflict between them and ninjas.
Well Ray, great job with your blog. It is really interesting, and I think that you should keep writing about the wars in which the ninjas participated, and about the conflicts they had with samurais. So, I will be following your blog, and if you write something about this I will immediately read it. Also, I wanted to tell you that you should read my blog more often, maybe you will like my posts.
